Installing
Calmora is in review with the Chrome Web Store. Until it is live, the button below emails us, and we will send you the link the day it ships.
- Open the Calmora listing on the Chrome Web Store.
- Choose Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
- Chrome will ask whether to keep your new tab page changed. Choose Keep it — that prompt comes from Chrome, not from us, and you can undo it at any time from chrome://extensions.
- Open a new tab. A short setup walks you through the widgets once, and everything else is optional.
There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.
Troubleshooting
My new tab is still Chrome’s
Only one extension can own the new tab page. If you have another one installed, whichever was enabled last usually wins. Open chrome://extensions and disable the other one, or check that you chose Keep it when Chrome asked.
The weather will not load
Calmora asks Open-Meteo for the forecast, so a blocked request or an offline moment stops it. The last forecast stays on screen with an “Updated N min ago” note rather than disappearing. If it never loads, try searching for your city again in the weather panel — the city search is a separate request.
The daily photo did not change
The online Picture of the Day is fetched once a day, and Calmora only uses it when it is a wide landscape shot — a tall or square one would be cropped badly, so it is skipped. On those days, and whenever you are offline, you get a photo from the set bundled inside the extension. You can also skip, pin or hide any photo from the credit in the corner.
Sound stopped when I closed the tab
It should not — soundscapes keep playing after the tab closes. Check the sleep timer in the sound panel, which stops playback on purpose after the interval you set.
The floating timer is not showing on other tabs
That one needs a separate permission, because it means Calmora drawing its bubble on pages other than its own. Turn on Show it on all websites in the timer settings and accept the prompt Chrome shows. You can take the permission back at any time in Settings → Privacy & data, and the bubble disappears immediately.
Tab Stash asked for a permission
Stashing needs to read the titles and addresses of the tabs in the window so it can save them before closing them. Calmora asks for that permission at the moment you first stash, not at install, and it is listed with a Remove button in Settings → Privacy & data.
Your data, and getting it out
Settings → Privacy & data has two buttons worth knowing about. Export backup writes everything — settings, lists, notes, habits, stashes — to a file you choose, and the same panel imports it back on another machine. Reset Calmora erases the lot.
Anything that clears browser data clears Calmora’s too: “Clear browsing data” with site data selected, a different Chrome profile, or a different device. Nothing syncs to a server, so export a backup before you move machines. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Removing it
Right-click the Calmora icon in the Chrome toolbar and choose Remove from Chrome. Your stored data is deleted along with it, and your new tab page goes back to Chrome’s own. Nothing is left behind on our side, because nothing was ever on our side.
